TRAINERS - Individuals who train and battle Pokemon! People become trainers for a variety of reasons. Some embark on the ultimate, familiar quest to become Champion; defeating the eight gyms and the Elite 4 in the process. Others may become trainers just to bond with their Pokemon or make them stronger, or to simply be trainers! Regardless of motive, being a trainer is the classic choice. Class Perk: After defeating a gym, trainers receive a ¥1000 voucher to be spent at the Move Tutor. While any class can battle a gym, only a trainer can be Champion.
COORDINATOR - Individuals who routinely take part in the Contest Hall. Their goal is to get pretty and dazzling Pokemon, train them for pleasing performances, and send them centerstage to win! Class Perk: When encountering a wild Pokemon, if that Pokemon requires an item for evolution, Coordinatres have a 20% of encountering that Pokemon with the Pokemon holding the item. If they require no item for evolution, the Pokemon could be holding any useful battle item. The item can then be obtained by either catching the Pokemon, or using a move such as Thief. If you successfully obtain their item, it will just become a simple Held Item in your inventory to use thereafter as you please.
BREEDERS - Breeders own ranches where everyone else can request breeding batches and buy eggs. Class Perk: Breeders have a higher chance of getting hidden abilities and rare genders in breeding batches. They're also the only class who can keep all the eggs from a breeding batch instead of a singular egg (so they can sell the surplus in their ranches).
GUILD MEMBERS - As the name suggests, these are members of the infamous Guild; harbingers of destruction and chaos. Almost all crime done in Arafel can be attributed to these folk. Once you join the guild, you are in the guild for life — to leave is to be branded a traitor and hunted down. The Guild only accepts characters 18+. Class Perk: Guild Members have the option of taking on Guild Assignments and earning rewards for their completion.
RESEARCHERS - The scientists and lab-rats. These individuals work in the Research Lab and their main goal is to study and know everything there is to know about Arafel! Class Perk: Researchers are the only class who have the chance to encounter Starter Pokemon in wild threads. In addition, Researchers have the option of taking on Research Assignments and earning rewards for their completion.
POLICE/RANGERS - While grouped under one banner, the police and rangers have two different responsibilities. Police officers face crime, fight the Guild, and are charged with keeping general peace in the region, whereas Rangers are more Pokemon-oriented. They deal with rampaging beasts, rescue missions, hordes of swarming bees, natural disasters, etc. Class Perk: Police/Rangers have the option of accepting Police/Ranger assignments and receiving rewards for their completion.
GYM LEADERS/SUBSTITUTES & ELITE FOUR - For each of the eight gyms around the region, there is a gym leader and a gym leader substitute. These folks are the ones you battle when challenging the gym. They are responsible for accepting/responding to challenges and handing out gym badges if defeated. The Elite 4 are the four members of the Pokemon League a person must face after defeating the eight gyms and before facing the Champion themselves. Class Perk: In wild threads, Gym Leaders/Subs/Elite Four have the option of skipping a spawn/common encounter, one time per thread. Gym leaders and Elite 4 also earn money from the gym challenges, regardless of if they win or lose.
CIVILIAN - If a character doesn't fall within any of the aforementioned classes, we'll group 'em here. These are people just living their lives in Arafel. The students, artists, shop-keepers, you name it. Anyone without ties to the Guild or the royal family, doesn't work in the lab or in the police headquarters, and isn't interested in being a trainer! Civilians can still battle gyms and other people, of course. Anyone can do that. It's just not their goal in life. Class Perk: A ¥250 bank-warming gift upon character acceptance! Can not be transferred to another character. Civilians also have a higher change of encountering shinies in wild threads -- a 1/50 change instead of 1/100.
